Women's Basketball Tops Lake Erie, 79-71

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Three women's basketball players scored in the double digits and a double double by Sara Nady gave the Redhawks the edge over Lake Erie College 79-71 Friday night.

Nady finished with 27 points, a career high, 11 assists, and three seals to lead the Redhawks and earn herself a double double. The senior guard was 5-for-8 from the three point line and 9-for-16 from the field overall.

Emily Miller scored 22 points, had eight rebounds and three steals while Dimitra Gkizani was the third Redhawk to eclipse double digits scoring 13 points and came away with five rebounds.

A seven point run by Roberts opened up the first quarter and from there the Redhawks did not let up leading the way for the remainder of the game. The largest lead came in the fourth quarter off off a free throw by Miller giving Roberts a 20 point advantage over the Storm.

The women's team was 32-for-67 (47.8%)  from the field and 7-for-23 (30.4%) from beyond the arc. While Lake Erie was 13-for-38 (34.2%) from the three point line, that was no match for the strength of the Redhawks in the paint scoring 50 points.

Roberts is on the road for the month of December and will return for a home game in January for conference play. Next up, the Redhawks take on Mansfield University on Wednesday, December 4th at 5:30 p.m.
