Women's Basketball Falls to STAC 73-58

SPARKHILL, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team was on the road for their third straight game, falling 73-58 to Saint Thomas Aquinas Friday night.

The Redhawks were the first to get on the board with a three pointer by Sara Nady but the Spartans fired back going on a ten point run and continuing to lead Roberts ending the first quarter 24-8 in favor of Saint Thomas Aquinas.

The second quarter brought the same fate for Roberts scoring eight points in comparison to STAC's 21. It was the second half that the Redhakws began to build some steam falling short by only one point in the third quarter and outsourcing the Spartans 26-11 in the fourth.

Three Roberts players broke into the double digits with Taryn Wilson leading the way. The sophomore scored 16 points for the Redhawks and added one rebound and two assists to her season sats. Madison McCormick followed suit also adding two rebounds as well as scoring 13 points. Sara Nady gave Roberts 13 points, two rebounds, and seven assists.

The team was 20-for-50 (40.0%) from the field, 12-for-27 (44.4%) from beyond the arc, and 6-for-7 (95.7%) in free throws.

Up next, Roberts remains on the road at Mercy College this Sunday. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
