Women's Soccer Takes Down Piedmont International 2-0

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Roberts Wesleyan women's soccer team defeated Piedmont International University in their opening game of the NCCAA National Championship 2-0 Tuesday afternoon.

The first goal came from senior, Maya Rutland in the 53rd minute of the game off an assist from Olivia Grande. A little over ten minutes later, a security goal by Morgan Razzano solidified the win for the Redhawks at the 66th minute mark.

Roberts played an offensively dominant game against the Bruins only allowing four shots in comparison to their sixteen in the first period alone. Keeping the pressure in the Piedmont defensive zone, the Bruins struggled to find their way to the box in the remainder of the game with only one shot in the second period and Roberts with 22.

The Redhawks will take on Campbellsville University for game number two tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
