ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A back-and-forth contest finished with an 11-9 victory for the Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team in their first home game of the season.
After falling behind in the first half the Redhawks rallied back with a big third quarter. Down 8-5 at the midway break Roberts outscored the Cavaliers 5-1 in the third quarter to take the lead. With 3:59 remaining in the third a goal by
Hunter Lemieux tied the game at 8-8. A minute and a half later
Mike Richardson gave the Redhawks the lead off the feed from
Gavin Marsh. Lemieux added another goal with 1:57 left in the quarter to put the Redhawks up 10-8. The goal would end up being the game-winner.
A low scoring fourth quarter only saw one goal given up.
Cody Menzies goal gave Roberts the insurance goal they were looking for to move the Redhawks to 3-0 on the season.
Menzies led Roberts with four goals. He also had three ground balls and one caused turnover.

Pat Hynes made 13 saves in net.
Roberts (3-0) will host Le Moyne on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
