Men's Basketball Drops Road Game to STAC, 90-64

SPARKILL, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball team wasn't able to pull off the second upset of St. Thomas Aquinas this season after falling on Sunday on the road, 90-64.

Justin Vaughan was the leading scorer for Roberts with 19 points. The senior guard hit five three pointers and was 7-of-12 from the floor. Vaughan was the only player to score in the double digits for the Redhawks.

The Spartans steadily increased the lead throughout the first half and at the break held a 21 point advantage. STAC never gave Roberts the opportunity to climb back into the game and pushed their lead to as many as 32 points in the second half.

Roberts Wesleyan (13-11, 9-7 ECC) will host Bridgeport on Friday in the Voller Athletic Center at 8 p.m. The Redhawks currently sit in fifth place in the conference standings and will need to win against Bridgeport to give the team a chance at fourth place and a home post season game.
