ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team improved to 8-1 on the season after defeating Edinboro University on Tuesday evening, 13-7. It is the best start in women's lacrosse history at Roberts.
Taylor Nathan led the offense with four goals while
Emily Tomei and
Emily Knight both added three goals each.
The Redhawks jumped out to a 7-0 lead before giving up a goal to Edinboro. Up 13-3 with under 10 minutes to play in the game the Fighting Scots tried to rally back in the game with four straight goals but Roberts was able to hold on to the win.
Madilynn Walsh was a force on the defensive side of the ball with six caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Jessica Giancursio also helped clean things up with six ground balls.
Roberts Wesleyan will jump back into East Coast Conference action on Saturday in a home game against Queens. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
