The Mustangs of Western Ontario University defeated the RWC Redhawks 7-0 in a match played Saturday at Midtown Athetic Club. The Mustangs opened the scoring by taking first and second doubles. Sophomore
Harmeet Luthra and Junior Mathew Cruz won 6-3 over Jonathan Soriano and Basil Leahy. The closest the Redhawks came to winning a point was at first singles.
Boyd Blackburn pushed the Mustang's Andre Szilvassy to three sets, losing 4-6, 7-7(2), 10-2. "WOU is a talented and well coached squad. Illness and injury kept three starters out of the lineup, but I was pleased with how the substitutes played. His Mazza played a competitive math at six singles.", commented Coach Linhart. The 6-6 Redhawks travel to NYC to take on ECC rival NYIT on Friday. They then move to weekend matches in Philadelphia against Jefferson University and USciences.
