The Redhawks Men's Tennis team ran its record to 9-7 (1-1 ECC) with a convincing 6-1 victory over the UDC Firebirds in a match played at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center in Washington DC. The Redhawks swept the doubles portion of the match. Senior
Boyd Blackburn and Sophomore
Guido Janssen clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win over the Firebird's Dew Stewart and Konstantin Kalchev.
The Redhawks then went on to take 5 of the 6 singles in straight sets. Janssen defeated Maksim Bahdonovich 6-2, 6- at second singles, and Matt Forrest defeated Stewart 6-1, 6-2. At 3
rd singles.
Dennis Barlotta defeated Wilson Cano at 5
th singles. Sophomore
Harmeet Luthra clinched the match for the Redhawks with a 6-0, 6-1 win at 4
th singles. The Firebirds only point of the match came at 1
st singles. RWC's Blackburn lost 6-4, 6-2 to Kolchev in a hotly contested match.
The Redhawks travel to Philadelphia tomorrow for a 4pm match against Usciences at the University of Pennsylvania tennis center.
