Redhawks Drop Two at Tri-Match in New Hampshire

RINDGE, N.H. – In a tri-match hosted by Franklin Pierce University on Saturday afternoon the Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team fell to the hosts 3-0 and also Bentley University 3-0.
 
In what was a competitive match despite the 3-0 loss the Redhawks battled against Franklin Pierce losing 25-22; 25-21; 25-19. In each of the sets the Redhawks held strong against the host team but were unable to close things out falling in straight sets.
 
Kathryn Krchniak led the Redhawks in the first of two matches for the day with nine kills. Anastasia Smith provided three blocks on the defensive side of the ball.
 
In the second match of the day's tri-match the Redhawks took on Bentley. The Falcons took the first set by a decisive 25-13 margin but Roberts was able to close the scoring gap in the final two sets. But it wouldn't be enough as Bentley won set two and three, 25-19; 25-23, respectively.
 
Amanda Greenwood had six kills followed by five from Smith. Greenwood also added two blocks. Senior Rachel Holmes had 11 digs in the match.
 
Roberts still looks to pick up its first win of the season and will take on Southern New Hampshire on Sunday, September 22nd at 11 a.m.
