ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Emily Miller hit another career milestone of 1,000 rebounds as the Redhawks faced off, and eventually fell to Daemen College 80-48 Saturday night.
Miller ended the previous game against Molloy College with 999 total rebounds for her career and was able to eclipse 1,000 in the seventh minute off of a missed jumper by Daemen. The senior standout also was able to capture her ninth double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Daemen was the first to get on the board but Roberts trailed by only a couple of points during the first quarter until the final minute where a 3-pointer by Jessie Cooke tied up the game 19-19.
In the second quarter Daemen was able to put up 21 points in comparison to the Redhawks nine then began the second half in the same fashion adding another 27 and keeping the Redhawks to nine for the second quarter in a row.
In the fourth quarter, Roberts was able to keep the Wildcats to 13 while scoring 11. With the clock winding down, the Redhawks were unable to erase the 35 point lead handing them a loss, 80-48.
The team went 16-for-52 (30.8%) from the field, 5-for-21 (23.8%) from the three point line, and 11-for-14 (78.6%) in free throws.
The women's basketball team has now moved to 4-5 in the conference and will be on the road as they take on Queens College next weekend. Tip off is scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m.
