Men's Basketball Ends Season on a High Against Molloy College, 106-96

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - Roberts Wesleyan Men's Basketball finished off their season in style Sunday afternoon as they beat the Molloy College Lions 106-96.  While this hasn't been their season, Coach Saladzius and the boys will be proud to finish on a three game win streak, their longest of the season.  Moreover, they were able to score 100 points for the first time in conference, becoming the sixth team in the conference to do so.

The evening started off hot for the Redhawks, as they were first on the board.  While the Lions were able to match them for a couple minutes, an Amari Lee jumper put Roberts in the driving seat with 17:39 in the half and they never looked back, holding onto the lead all the way until the final buzzer.  In the second half, they led by as many as 17 points.

It was a historic night for a number of Redhawks.  Armon Nasseri scored a career high 35 points, going 13-19 (68%) from the floor and 7-9 (77%) from beyond the arc.  Freshman Amari Lee picked up a double-double, scoring 18 points and dishing out 10 assists, the most in a game for him.  Reggie Clark picked up 30 points for the third time this season, in a highlight night where he went 5-8 (63%) from three-point land.  For both Clark and Nasseri, their three pointer totals were the highest of their career. On the other side of the ball, Molloy College focused all of their offense through Nick Corbett, who scored an impressive 44 points.

With that, the Redhawks will finish their season 7-20 and 4-12 in the conference.  While they'll just miss out on the ECC tournament, they can take solace from a strong end to the season where they won four out of their last five, and three in a row.  And, since they have no graduating seniors, they can look forward to carrying this streak into next season with all their pieces in place.
