STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Sophomore forward
Abigail Sindoni scored two goals in Saturday's East Coast Conference game against the College of Staten Island to lead the Redhawks to a 3-1 win.
The win is the first of the season for Roberts.
Sindoni got the scoring started in the 29th minute but the Dolphins responded quickly with a goal just four minutes later. The score remained tied 1-1 heading into halftime.
The Redhawks used a pair of goals less than three minutes apart in the second half to earn the victory on the road. The game-winner was scored by senior
Haley Cole in the 64th minute, assisted on by
Morgan Razzano. Sindoni added the insurance goal in the 66th on her own after dribbling by three defenders to set up a shot 18 yards out that found the back of the net.
Roberts dominated the offensive side of the pitch with 20 total shots and 14 on target. CSI finished the game with 10 shots and three on frame.
Next on the schedule is a home game against the University of Bridgeport next Saturday, Oct. 9. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
