PAINESVILLE, OHIO - The Roberts Wesleyan College women's basketball team got off to a fast start before Lake Erie College settled in and pulled away for a 67-52 non-conference victory on Thursday night.
Playing its fourth game in seven days, Roberts (2-2) took a 7-2 lead in the first two minutes. Taking advanctage of six turnovers, the Storm closed the first quarter on an 18-2 run.
Lake Erie scored 23 points off turnovers and held a 32-24 advantage in points in the paint.
"They hurt us in the paint and they hurt us with turnovers," Roberts coach
Kevin Clifford said.
Sophomore
Georgia Haverlock led the visiting Redhawks with 15 points and senior
Taryn Wilson added 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Senior
Dimitra Gkizani contributed eight points and seven rebounds for Roberts and freshman
Grace Dow chipped in six points and six rebounds.
Maddy Latalavage led Lake Erie with 14 points.
Roberts will return to action at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 28 at LeMoyne.
