UTICA, N.Y. – Freshman
Mya June was a triple winner on Saturday in a tri meet with Utica College and Hobart and William Smith College. June also set new program records in each of her individual race wins. The Redhawks women's swimming team won 140-73 over Utica but lost to Hobart and William Smith, 179-92. The men's team also picked up a win over Utica by a score of 133-35.
June was an individual winner in the 200-yard butterfly (2:21.48), where she won by over six seconds, the 500-yard freestyle (5:38.45), and the 200-yard individual medley (2:25.03). The Schenectady native also picked up a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay alongside
Brett VanBoden,
Katelyn Rakiey and
Rennee Rozler.
On the men's side,
Collin Webb won four events for the Redhawks. The senior won the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.43), the 50-yard freestyle (22.97), 100-yard freestyle (50.18), and was a part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:34.77). Webb was joined by
Caleb Larchar,
Gabe Rivers, and
Casey Webb for the win.
The Redhawks are back in action again on Nov. 6 in a tri meet with Le Moyne College and Cazenovia College. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Syracuse, N.Y.
