Redhawks Swimming Week in Review: March 22-28

Women's Swim Dominates in Victory over Alfred State, 3/27

ALFRED, N.Y. - The Roberts Men's and Women's Swimming team traveled to their third meet of the season on Saturday. On the Women's side, the Redhawks had a great showing with top spots in 10 of the 12 events. Overall, the Women's team notched their second win of the season and took down the Pioneers 137-24.

On the group side, Paige Siebold, Abigail Zembiec, Brett VanBoden, and Jessica Furnum took the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 2:10.31. In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, Roberts took the top two positions with Rennee Rozler, Sara Gendrue, VanBoden, and Furnum taking first with a time of 1:50.71 and Katelyn Rakiey, Anna Vorderbrueggen, Samantha Pratt, and Daniela Rodriguez coming in right behind with a time of 1:59.51.

Individually, Siebold came out on top in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:07.84) and 50 Yard Freestyle (28.38). Rozler won the 100 Yard Freestyle and 200 Yard IM with times of 58.22 and 2:30.30, respectively. Rodriguez finished first in the 50 Yard Backstroke (33.55) while Rakiey notched top position in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:18.68). VanBoden topped the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 32.69 seconds and Zembiec rounded out the night with a "W" in the 50 Yard Breaststroke (38.22 seconds).

 

Men's Swim Falls to Alfred State, 3/27

ALFRED, N.Y. - On the Men's side, the Redhawks took top positions in three of the 12 events. Overall, the Men's team fell to 1-2 on the season with a loss to the Pioneers, 38-145.

In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, Gabe Rivers, Mateus Moura, Robert Bodien, and Collin Webb came in first by a hair with a time of 1:36.03. 

Individually, Rivers came in first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:53.75 and Webb controlled the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 50.09 seconds. 

The Redhawks continue their stint on the road with a meet against Erie Community College this upcoming weekend. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, April 3rd at 11 am.
