ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team dropped its first East Coast Conference match of the season in a 3-0 loss to the University of Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon. Bridgeport won the match 25-22; 25-10; 25-22.
 
Emily Rowlison led the match in kills with 11 in total.
 
The Redhawks found ways to stay alive in the first and third sets using rallies to fight their way back. Down six points in the first set, Roberts used a four point swing to bring the score to 16-14. Later in the set Roberts closed to within one at 23-22, but Bridgeport scored the final two points to win the set.
 
In the third set the Redhawks were down 20-15 but used a 7-1 run to take the lead, 22-21, but Bridgeport rallied to score the final four points and win the set and match.
 
Madison Truong had 15 assists and Teagan Weber had 15 digs to lead those categories for the Redhawks.
 
Roberts will face Mercy on Sunday at noon in the Voller Athletic Center.
