BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan College women's volleyball team jumped to an early lead in Tuesday night's non-conference match at Brockport before the host Golden Eagles used a 9-2 run at the end of the first game as the springboard to a straight-set victory.
"The play tonight was much more in line with the team we can be," Roberts coach
Doug Porterfield said. "We fought for points with second and third opportunities."
Graduate student
Emily Rowlison led the Redhawks (0-5) with eight kills, sophomore
Madison Truong contributed 11 assists and eight digs and freshman
Teagan Weber added 11 digs for the Redhawks. Weber also had 20 serve receptions and no errors.
"Teagan was joined defensively by
Victoria Rudolph and
Adrianna Garcia with digs that kept the ball alive and gave the team additional chances at offense."
Brockport committed just three service errors all evening en route to the 25-19, 25-17, 25-14 win.
Roberts returns to action for its first home match of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 15 against LeMoyne at the Voller Athletic Center.
