ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Led by a career day from senior
Taryn Wilson, the Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team used a successful 3-point shooting day to take down the University of Bridgeport, 82-73.
The Redhawks had its best shooting day of the season going 16-of-35 (45.7%) from 3-point range on Saturday afternoon in the Voller Athletic Center. Kick starting the offense was Wilson who had the best outing of her Roberts career with 25 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and a block. The Honeoye Falls native rattled in eight 3-pointers, one shy from tying the Roberts single-game record.
Wilson opened the game up with a triple and hit three more in the first quarter alone to help the Redhawks open up an 18 point lead. Roberts went on to build a lead as large as 28 points.
Junior
Ashlynn McKnight provided positive minutes off the bench scoring 11 points in 15 minutes of action. McKnight was 4-of-6 from the field and hit three from beyond the arc.
Roberts moves to 6-5 overall this season and 3-2 in the East Coast Conference. The Redhawks will travel to Queens for an ECC matchup on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
