Redhawks Close Out the Regular Season

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team closed out the 2022 season on Saturday afternoon. The Redhawks fell to Molloy, 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-21).

Sydney Yanak and Olivia Price each had eight kills to lead the team. Freshman Morgan Verbridge added a career-high seven kills.

Sarina Pasquantonio and Caleigh Schroeder split time at the setter position and nearly matched each other in assist totals. Pasquantonio finished with 12 assists while Schroeder had 11.

Defensively, the Redhawks came up with 42 digs, led by Teagan Weber with 11. Roberts also had eight block assists and two solo blocks. Celine Malosa had three block assists and one solo.

"We are a young team with huge upside," said head coach Doug Porterfield. "We played some tough teams this season and it tested our mentality, but we learned a lot about our team and about ourselves. This season has been a good journey with less wins than we wanted. But these are tough, dedicated young women of character that are already impacting their communities. Most importantly, they are friends, daughters and community members with the character of Christ."

This year's team was made up of one senior, one junior, five sophomores, and five freshman.

The Redhawks finished the season 4-19 overall and 2-8 in the East Coast Conference.
