BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Ten different players scored at least one goal on Saturday afternoon as the Roberts women's lacrosse team upended the University of Bridgeport, 23-4.
The Redhawks improved to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the East Coast Conference.
Lindsey Brinkel had her highest point total of the season with 15 points on 5 goals and 10 assists.
Freshman
Emma Blumenstock had a career-high 5 goals.
Alexis Grant,
Caitlin Harding,
Paige Knowles,
Rhiannon Burto, and Tannah O'Neill-Blake all scored two goals.
Madison Bell,
Sophia Podszebka, and
Ellen O'Neil each had one goal.
Following Bridgeport's goal to make it 4-2 with 10:11 remaining in the first quarter the Redhawks scored 16 consecutive goals to put the game well out of reach of the Purple Knights.
"Today was a great team win," said head coach
Kristin Paolini. "We were able to fix some of the mistakes from our last game and grab the momentum early on."
Roberts will travel to Notre Dame College (Ohio) on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. game.
