Mitch Streety has been named the East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 6, the conference announced on Monday.
Streety won 22 of 29 faceoffs (75.8%) and scored the tying goal with 2:49 to play as the unbeaten Redhawks (3-0) rallied for a 13-12 non-conference victory over Chestnut Hill College on Sunday. Streety also led Roberts with 10 ground balls in the contest.
Streety has 2 goals, 1 assist and 39 ground balls this season. He ranked second in NCAA Division II in ground balls per game (14.5) and eighth in face-off winning percentage (.723) in games played through March 3.
Streety, a native of Orchard Park, N.Y., has secured 224 ground balls in his career.
The Redhawks play at top-ranked LeMoyne College at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9.
