LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA. – The unbeaten Roberts Wesleyan University women's soccer team continued its sizzling start to the season, rolling to a 7-0 victory over Lincoln University in an East Coast Conference match on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman
Kaeleigh Romero recorded three goals and added an assist to power the Redhawks (6-0, 2-0 ECC), who have won 13 straight regular-season matches dating back to last season. Freshman
Ella White added two goals and freshman
Larissa Johnston and junior
Jessica Savage also scored for Roberts.
White, who leads the Redhawks with seven goals this season, opened the scoring in the 23
rd minute and Romero' tally in the 32
nd minute gave Roberts a 2-0 advantage at the half.
"The team did a great job to refocus and play a sharper second half," Roberts coach
Sarah McClellan said. "Everyone contributed to help earn the road victory."
Larissa Johnston added her first goal as a Redhawk in the 50
th minute before White struck again off an assist from Romero in the 59
th minute.
Romero notched her second of the game in the 73
rd minute and struck again in the 75
th minute. She has four goals this season.
Savage found the net off an assist from
Courtney Felton in the 80
th minute for the first goal of her college career.
Roberts held a 17-0 advantage in shots on goal for the game. Junior
Nicolette Knauf and freshman
Courtney Yencer each played a half in goal for Roberts.
The Redhawks return to action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday for an ECC match at D'Youville.
