SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team took an early 1-0 lead on Tuesday evening against Le Moyne, but couldn't hold on, falling to the Dolphins 3-1.
Roberts opening set win was one of resilience for the team as the Redhawks grabbed a 7-3 lead, but went cold allowing Le Moyne to go on a nine-point run. Chasing the lead midway through the set Roberts rallied to go on an eight-point run of their own to regain the lead at 17-13. The Redhawks carried on to win the set 25-21.
In the second set Roberts battled back from a deficit to take its first lead of the set at 16-15, but the Dolphins were able to regain the lead just a few points later and carried out the remainder of the set for a 25-22 win.
Le Moyne won the third and fourth set; 25-18, 25-18.
"We had some solid play tonight," said head coach
Doug Porterfield. "It's a momentum builder for the conference opener on Saturday."

Olivia Price had a career high 10 kills. Middle hitter
Celine Malosa posted an impressive .400 hitting percentage with eight kills.
Roberts (2-10) travels to Mercy on Saturday for a noon time match.
