AMHERST, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's basketball team put forth a valiant effort against rival Daemen University, but the Wildcats used their depth to register a 71-51 victory in an East Coast Conference game on Wednesday night.
Junior guard Georgia Haverlock led the Redhawks (2-11, 1-5) with 15 points. Freshman Grace Galgano, the reigning ECC Rookie of the Week, went 7-for-7 from the free-throw line and scored 13 points.
Freshman Paris Anthony added 10 points for Roberts and sophomore Grace Dow pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
Daemen (10-2, 5-1 ECC) held a 32-8 advantage in bench points and pulled away in the second half after leading just 36-30 at intermission.  
Roberts will play its first home game of 2023 at 2 p.m. on Saturday against ECC foe D'Youville.
