SPARKILL, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's basketball team got off to a fast start but was unable to hold off Saint Thomas Aquinas College in an East Coast Conference game on Sunday afternoon.
The Redhawks made 9 of 15 shots from three-point range in the first half to take a 43-31 lead at the break but the Spartans outscored Roberts 18-6 in the third quarter and came back for a 68-59 victory.
Freshman
Grace Galgano scored 12 points and collected seven rebounds for Roberts (2-10, 1-4 ECC).
Junior guard
Danielle DiCintio went 3-for-4 from long range and scored all 11 of her points in the first half and
Georgia Haverlock contributed seven points and eight rebounds for Roberts.
Sophomore guard Sydney Hvizdak contributed a pair of three-pointers for the Redhawks.
Roberts returns to action at 6 p.m. on Wednesday for an ECC game at Daemen University.
