ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team battled Queens College in an East Coast Conference match on Sunday afternoon, but fell just short in five sets, 3-2.
Roberts had an opportunity to go up 2-0 on the Knights after a first set win and 16-9 lead in the second set, but Queens used an 8-1 run to get back into the match and went on to win the second set 25-22.
The Redhawks rallied back in the fourth after dropping the third set and jumped out to a 6-0 lead while gaining the momentum back from the Knights. Roberts won the set 25-21.
In the final set, Queens took advantage early on, gaining a 5-1 lead en route to a 15-9 set win for the match.
Freshman
Camryn Karelus had 11 kills to lead the Redhawks.
Sydney Yanak added 10 kills.
Teagan Weber had 21 digs in the contest.
Roberts (5-10, 2-4 ECC) will host Saint Rose on Friday at 6 p.m.
