ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's basketball team got off to a fast start on Saturday afternoon, but could not keep pace with Bentley during a non-conference game at the Voller Athletic Center. Bentley was ranked No. 18 in NCAA Division II in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association preseason rankings.
The visiting Falcons outscored the Redhawks 42-26 in the paint and pulled away for a 92-57 victory in the Redhawks Classic.
Graduate student
Georgia Haverlock scored 14 points to lead the Redhawks (1-1). Sophomores
Marianna Freeman and
Paris Anthony added 12 points apiece for the Redhawks.
Haverlock and
Grace Galgano both snared five rebounds for Roberts and senior guard
Danielle DiCintio dished out four assists.
Roberts returns to action on Wednesday for a non-conference game at Clarion University.
