GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – A slow start by the Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team resulted in a 15-6 loss to No. 9 Adelphi on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Redhawks conceded the first seven goals of the game and were unable to close the gap. Roberts got on the board for the first time with 2:35 remaining in the first quarter following a goal by
Alexis Grant (assisted by
Emma Taylor). Grant led the team with three goals on the afternoon.
Ella Dossier added two goals and
Annie Mulhall had one goal to cap off the scoring for Roberts.
Shawna Lesmerises made 10 saves in net.
Up next, Roberts (4-4) will travel to Rindge, N.H. to take on Franklin Pierce University. The game is scheduled for Fri. March 17 at noon.
