MANCHESTER, N.H. – Freshman
Ella Dossier and
Kadie Tierney made the most of their debut to the starting lineup as the duo helped lead the Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team to a 20-9 win over Franklin Pierce on Friday morning.
Both freshmen had career-highs in the game. Dossier led the Redhawks with seven points, coming from three goals and four assists while Tierney added three goals.
"Ella and Kadie played a great game today," said head coach
Kristin Paolini. "Both those girls have been working hard and earned a spot in the starting lineup. They competed hard and made a huge impact today."
In a game that featured several changes, including a location change and time change to a 9 a.m. start, the Redhawks were unphased. After allowing the first goal of the contest, Roberts never trailed again once they regained the lead at the 10:06 mark of the first quarter.
The Redhawks nearly doubled up Franklin Pierce in shots, 40-22 and were a perfect 17-of-17 on clear attempts, resulting in the highest scoring effort of the season with 20 goals.
Tori Lammes and
Annie Mulhall also helped pace the offense with four goals each.
Madelyn Robinson forced three turnovers and had two groundballs to lead the defense.
Up next, Roberts (5-4) will prepare to enter East Coast Conference play as they take on Mercy on Sat. March 25 on the road.
