SPARKILL, N.Y. – The Roberts men's basketball season came to a close on Saturday afternoon in the East Coast Conference semifinals, after the Redhawks fell to No. 2 Daemen University, 73-61.
The sixth-seeded Redhawks held the lead for the first five minutes of the contest, but once Daemen captured the lead Roberts was unable to regain control.
Roberts hit the first two buckets of the second half to cut the Wildcats' lead to three points, but then the Redhawks went cold, as the team went seven minutes without a field goal. Daemen took advantage during that time with a 14-1 offensive run.
Rian Carter led the scoring effort with 13 points.
Anastasios Zetos added 12 points and
Malik Brooks had 10 to round out the double-digit scorers for Roberts.
The Redhawks complete the season with a 10-16 record.
