Redhawks Register ECC Win Over UDC

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Playing with heavy hearts, the Roberts Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team defeated the University of the District of Columbia 27-2 in an East Coast Conference game on Saturday.
The game was played just hours after the team learned of the passing of Amy Bossard, the mother of sophomore defender Parker Bossard.
""It has been a pretty tough morning, they were pretty shaken up but they came out, focused and played," Roberts coach Rocky Delfino said. "All of our thoughts and prayers are with Parker and his family right now and all of us will continue to be there for our brother."
Graduate student Reid Jackowski led Roberts (7-3, 2-1 ECC) with four goals and seven assists in one half of play. Sophomore Gunner McMillan added four goals and three assists and freshman Curtis Denison set career highs with three goals, two assists and five points.
Senior Dan Doviak added three goals and sophomore Jacob Zimmerman and freshmen Sam Keens and Justin Skelly added two goals each. Seven other players added goals for the Redhawks, who registered 41 shots on goal.
Andy Davis and Garrett Kayser shared time in goal for Roberts, with each making five saves.
The Redhawks return to action at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8 for an ECC game against Molloy.
