ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team enters the final two weeks of the regular season on a roll.
The Redhawks (8-5, 2-1 East Coast Conference) defeated Post University 18-3 in a non-conference game on Saturday for their third straight victory. Roberts has outscored its opponents 57-8 during the streak and has three ECC games remaining.
"This is a happy win because we did the things that we talked about doing," Redhawks head coach
Kristin Paolini said. "I wasn't really looking at the goals and the assists, I was more focused on the intangibles like discipline and focus. I am also really proud of their mental approach today."
Fifth-year captain
Alexis Grant scored five goals to lead Roberts. Freshman midfielder
Kadie Tierney (three goals, two assists) and freshman attack
Ella Dossier (five assists) also totaled five points for the Redhawks while graduate student
Tori Lammes (four assists) and sophomore
Tannah O'Neill-Blake (two goals, two assists) each added four points.
Grant said the Redhawks have improved their communication throughout the season and are also growing closer as a team.
"We are doing more off the field activities together and that is helping us on the field," she said.
"We have really amped up the way that we that we practice and it is helping us in games," Tierney added. "Also, if a mistake happens we are there and have each other's back."
Sophomore

Sophia Podszebka both scored twice. Junior defender
Madelyn Robinson added her first collegiate goal. Podszebka also contributed a game-high nine draw controls.

Grant, who has been making plays since first taking the field for the Redhawks, registered her 150
th career point when she scored her fourth goal of the game with 9:10 remaining in the second half.
"I am happy that I am able to do this with this team and with these girls," said Grant, who has 34 goals and 12 assists this season. "I am so happy that I came back for this season and I wouldn't want to score my 150
th point with anyone else."
Sophomore

Natalie Arieno each played one half in goal for Roberts.
The versatility the Redhawks have shown in recent games should be beneficial as they make a push toward the ECC Tournament.
"The individuals on this team have multi-dimensional skill sets and we are continuing to evolve as a team," Paolini said. "It's easier to put players in different roles this season and exciting because our team continues to grow."
