FROSTBURG, MD. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team scored five of the first seven goals in Wednesday afternoon's East Coast Conference semifinal against Frostburg State.
The second-seeded Bobcats responded by scoring 10 of the next 12 to build a 12-7 halftime lead and went on to defeat the third-seeded Redhawks 21-13. Roberts ends its season with a 9-5 record.
"We hung in there in the first half, then we ran out of gas," Roberts coach
Rocky Delfino said. "We gave up some transition stuff and we got out of sync."
Junior
Jordon Deats led Roberts with four goals and an assist. Senior
Dan Doviak added three goals and an assist and graduate student
Reid Jackowski scored two goals. Jackowski concludes his Roberts career with 187 career points, second on the Redhawks' all-time scoring list.
Sophomore Gunnar MacMillan added a goal and two assists and
Justin Skelly,
Ethan Brown and
Matt Walsh all scored one goal for the Redhawks.

Dan Doviak each secured five ground balls to lead Roberts Sophomore
Andy Davis made 13 saves for the Redhawks.
Austin Sipes led Frostburg with five goals. The Bobcats, who defeated the Redhawks 18-16 on Saturday to earn the ECC's second seed, outscored the Redhawks 12-4 in the second and third quarters.
Frostburg will play top-seeded Mercy, a 19-9 winner over Molloy in Wednesday's other semifinal, in the ECC Championship at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Mercy.
