NINE REDHAWKS RECEIVE ECC HONORS

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Nine members of the Roberts Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team were recognized by the East Coast Conference for their outstanding play this season.

Alexis Grant, Annie Mulhall, Emma Blumenstock and Madelyn Robinson were all named first-team all-conference in voting by ECC coaches. Tori Lammes, Sophia Podszebka, Shay DeRoo, Emma Taylor and Shawna Lesmerises were each named second-team.

Grant and Robinson were each repeat first-team selections for the Redhawks, who finished 12-6 and advanced to the ECC championship game for the third straight season.

First-team selections

Alexis Grant: The fifth-year player from Brewerton, N.Y., scored a career-high 48 goals and added 17 assists to tie for the team lead in points this season. She registered a team-high three game-winning goals and tied for fourth in the conference in scoring with 65 points. She finished her Redhawk career with 132 goals, 38 assists and 170 points.

Annie Mulhall: The sophomore attack from Webster, N.Y., made an immediate impact in her first season at Roberts, scoring 58 goals to lead the ECC. She added seven assists to tie for the team lead and finish fourth in the conference in points. She also added 16 draw controls and was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 20.

Emma Blumenstock: The sophomore midfielder from Penfield, N.Y., scored 29 goals and added 19 assists in 14 games. She added 21 ground balls and netted two game-winners, including a triple-overtime tally against Molloy on April 22.

Madelyn Robinson: The junior from Lancaster, N.Y., ranked second in the ECC in caused turnovers with 42 and was named ECC Defensive Player of the Week three times during the season. She scored her first career goal against Post on April 15 and ranked third on the team in ground balls with 36.

Second team selections

Tori Lammes: The graduate student from Hamlin, N.Y., registered 23 goals and 28 assists during her first season as a Redhawk. She added 15 draw controls and a game-winning goal while playing both attack and midfield.

Sophia Podszebka: The junior midfielder from Churchville, N.Y., led the conference in draw controls (106) for the second straight season. A first-team All-ECC selection in 2022, she also contributed 22 goals, 2 assists and caused 13 turnovers.

Shay DeRoo: The graduate student from Fairport, N.Y., repeated as a second-team selection after causing 26 turnovers and collecting 23 ground balls. She also scored her first career goal against UDC on April 8.

Emma Taylor: The freshman defender from Spencerport, N.Y., led the Redhawks with 41 ground balls and also caused 20 turnovers and secured 31 draw controls in her first season.

Shawna Lesmerises: The sophomore from Merrimack, N.H., led the ECC in goals-against average (8.74) and finished second in save percentage (45.5) during her first season as a starter. She played over 865 minutes and made 105 saves.
