REDHAWKS BATTLE TO 1-1 DRAW AT MOLLOY

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan and Molloy entered Tuesday afternoon's soccer match with identical 2-0 records in East Coast Conference play.
The Redhawks and Lions still have matching records and are tied atop the ECC standings with five points apiece after battling to a 1-1 draw.
"Today was a very competitive game and our team did well to earn a tie on the road," Roberts coach Sarah McClellan said. "We look forward to continuing to improve throughout the season."
Sophomore Kaeleigh Romero capitalized on a turnover and buried a shot from 25 yards out to give Roberts (6-1-1, 2-0-1) a 1-0 lead in the 43rd minute. The goal was Romero's first of the season.
Molloy answered with a goal in the 54th minute and the teams held each other off the board the rest of the way.
Senior Nicolette Knauf made five saves in goal for Roberts.
The Redhawks entered the game ranked ninth in the East in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings while Molloy was 10th.
The Redhawks return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday for an ECC matchup against Mercy on the grass field at Roberts Stadium.
