ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Freshman goalkeeper
Avery Richardson has made 37 saves in the first two games of her collegiate career which ranks her first in NCAA Division II. On Wednesday night, Richardson continued her impressive season making 31 saves in a 10-0 loss to Mercy.
Despite the loss, Richardson, with the help of her defense held the Mavericks scoreless in the third quarter while only allowing five shots. On the offensive end in the third quarter, the Redhawks recorded their first shot on goal of the season when
Maddison O'Moore fired off a shot from straightaway.
Mercy was led by Rachel Palladino who scored three goals on the night.
The Redhawks, who have one substitute for field play gutted out the hot and humid weather to complete the third game in program history. It was the second home contest for Roberts this season with only two more home games on the schedule.
Roberts (0-3) will travel to Bloomsburg University next Wednesday for a 4 p.m. game.
