ROCHESTER, NY – Graduate student Georgia Haverlock scored 22 points and senior Grace Dow added 15 points and a team-leading nine rebounds as the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Basketball team battled Felician University Saturday afternoon in the second game of the annual RWU Tipoff Tournament in the Voller Athletic Center.
Roberts Wesleyan (0-2) led 20-15 after the first quarter and took a 39-30 lead into the halftime intermission.
Felician (2-0) cipped away at the lead with a 22-15 advantage in the third quarter and trailed 54-52 at the start of the final quarter.
Back-to-back baskets by Dow midway through the fourth quarter gave Roberts a 60-58 lead but four consecutive free throws allowed Felician to regain the lead and a 3-pointer less than a minute later stretched the lead to 65-60.
After the teams traded free throws, Felician scored eight of the next 10 points to open up a double-digit lead at 74-63 with 1:21 let to play. After a pair of Haverlock free throws and one free throw from Felician, a late jumper by the Golden Falcons was the final basket of the game.
Haverlock scored more than 20 points for the second consecutive game and Dow just missed a double-double with her points and rebounds.
The Redhawks will host Clarion University Wednesday with a 7 p.m. game at the Voller Athletic Center on campus.
