DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Mercy women's basketball team used a 15-1 run at the start of the second quarter to open up a close game en route to a 67-45 victory over Roberts Wesleyan University in the East Coast Conference opener for both teams.
Senior forward
Grace Dow scored 11 points and freshman
Erin Frazier contributed eight points and six rebounds for the Redhawks (0-8, 0-1 ECC).
Freshman guard
Meaghan Doherty added seven points and six rebounds for Roberts, which trailed 17-16 after the first quarter.
Roberts played most of the game without leading scorer
Georgia Haverlock (20.1 ppg), who left the game with an injury after playing eight minutes.
The Redhawks will continue their weekend trip with an ECC game at Saint Thomas Aquinas College at 1 p.m. Sunday.
