ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Roberts Wesleyan men's volleyball fell to NCAA DIII nationally-ranked St. John Fisher University on Wednesday night, 3-1.
The Redhawks were able to spread the ball out and get production on offense from several players, but the team couldn't find consistency on the attack to upset the No. 7 ranked Cardinals. Roberts finished with 32 kills on 94 attempts and 26 errors. Fisher was able to produce 15 more attack attempts over the Redhawks.
Roberts won the third, 25-23 after taking a a seven-point lead in the set. St. John Fisher rallied to tie the set at 21-21, but back-to-back kills from
Griffin Monrad put the Redhawks in the driver's seat to win the set.
Monrad finished with nine kills, two aces, two block assists and five digs.
Jonah Grbic had seven kills and
Noah Liousfi had six kills and five total blocks.
Riley Green added 24 assists.
Roberts (4-7) will travel to St. Thomas Aquinas for a pair of matches on Friday and Saturday. The match on Saturday will be the first East Coast Conference match of the season.
