ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's basketball team shot 65.6 percent from the field and made 7 of its 11 three-point attempts while building a 23-point halftime lead and cruised to a 98-74 win over Queens College in an East Coast Conference game at the Voller Athletic Center on Friday night.
Jermaine Taggart II scored 11 of his 16 points in the first 20 minutes as the Redhawks (9-10, 6-5 ECC) built a 54-31 lead.
Junior forward
Isaiah Elmore scored 20 points and finished with 10 rebounds and senior guard
Malik Brooks finished one assist shy of a triple-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists.
Freshman forward
Elijah Edwards scored a career-high 13 points and
Kevin Constant and
Ryan Hudson each added 11 for Roberts, which placed six players in double figures.
Roberts distributed the ball well as 23 of its 36 field goals were assisted. The Redhawks scored 50 of their points in the paint. The victory avenged an 87-76 loss at Queens on Jan. 19.
Roberts will host Molloy in an ECC game at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Voller Athletic Center.
