Box Score STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The College of Staten Island went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the final 20 seconds to hold off the Roberts Wesleyan University women's basketball team 67-62 in an East Coast Conference game on Wednesday night.
The Redhawks (6-15, 2-11 ECC) rallied from a seven-point deficit after the first quarter to tie the game at 29 at the half. The game was tied at 46 after three quarters and Roberts led 53-51 after a basket by
Grace Dow with 5:47 to play.
Senior guard
Danielle DiCintio scored 19 points and dished out seven assists for the Redhawks. Dow finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks to register her fourth double-double in the last seven games.
Graduate student
Georgia Haverlock scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Roberts, bringing her career point total to 995.
Emily Palmer and
Marianna Freeman both scored eight points for the Redhawks.
The Redhawks will host the University of the District of Columbia at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Voller Athletic Center.
