ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Five players scored double-digits as the Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball team took down the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday, 87-74.
Malik Brooks led all scorers with 23 points as well as five assists and seven rebounds.
Kevin Constant scored 20 points,
Marlon Pratt Jr. had 13, and
Isaiah Elmore and
Jermaine Taggart II both had 11 points. Elmore also had 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.
With 11:48 remaining in the first half the Redhawks regained the lead following a triple by
Trey Kleitz and Roberts never looked back from then on out. Roberts built a 10-point lead at the end of the first half and extended the lead to 17 early in the second half.
The Redhawks dominated the paint, outscoring the Firebirds 46-34 down low.
Roberts (11-11, 8-6 ECC) currently sit in fourth place in the conference standings with two games left in the regular season. The Redhawks will travel to D'Youville on Wednesday and be back home on Saturday for the regular season finale against Daemen.
