CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team raced to a 6-0 lead in the first 17:14 and completed a three-victory week with a 15-11 non-conference win over Saint Michael's College in the Cortland Classic.

Ryan Brown,
Luke Delavak,
Dan Doviak and
Gunner MacMillan all scored in the first quarter and Doviak added his second of the game with 12:46 remaining in the first half as the Redhawks (6-3) took control early at Cortland High School.
Isaac Marrero won five of six face-offs in the first quarter to give Roberts an advantage in possessions.
"Today we played close to a complete game," Roberts head coach
Rocky Delfino said. "Everybody got into the game and it was a community effort."
Deats led the offense with three goals and three assists while Doviak finished with three goals and two assists. MacMillan scored three goals,
Jacob Zimmerman added two and Delavak,
Ryan Brown,
Ethan Brown and
Andres Veliz each scored one. Veliz's goal was his first as a Redhawk.
Marrero finished 19 of 30 on face-offs and led Roberts with seven ground ball. Delavak and
Sam Keens each corralled six ground balls and
Carlos Bueso caused three turnovers.
Garrett Kayser made eight saves.
The Redhawks open East Coast Conference play at home against Mercy at noon on Saturday. Mercy is ranked ninth in the latest USA Lacrosse Magazine Division II poll.
"We've just got to execute," Delfino said of the key to success in conference play. "We have to eliminate our physical and mental errors."
