Men's Volleyball Closes Out Season in ECC Semifinals

BLAUVELT, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's volleyball team had their inaugural season conclude on Saturday afternoon after falling 3-0 to No. 3 Dominican in the semifinals of the East Coast Conference Championships.

The Redhawks finish the season with an 8-16 overall record and 3-3 ECC mark. The team also earned an NCCAA Tournament title.

Roberts got off to a slow start in the first set of Saturday's match and Dominican took advantage of the early momentum to earn the straight-set victory.

Freshman Griffin Monrad had 10 kills to lead the Redhawks and Paul Fillion added nine kills.

Roberts had a 29-26 advantage in kills in the match, but Dominican capitalized on 23 total points coming off their service aces and service errors by Roberts.

Earlier this week the team garnered the most awards in the East Coast Conference, including five all-conference selections, Libero of the Year and Co-Coach of the Year.
