BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team scored 11 goals in the second half to take down D'Youville on Saturday, 18-7.
D'Youville scored the first goal of the second half to tie the game at seven, but Roberts didn't allow another goal for the remaining 27 minutes and 30 seconds of the game. The Redhawks scored 11 unanswered goals coming from six different players.
Emma Blumenstock had eight points on five goals and three assists.
Lucy Rugaber had seven points from four goals and three assists.
Roberts dominated the time of possession with the ball in the offensive zone starting with the success of
Sophia Podszebka in the draw circle. Roberts won 24 of the 29 draw controls with Podszebka earning 12. The Redhawks outshot the Saints 37-9.
The defense caused 18 turnovers.
Madelyn Robinson had four caused turnovers and two ground balls
With four games remaining in the regular season Roberts holds a 7-5 overall record and perfect 4-0 East Coast Conference mark. Roberts will host Ursuline College on Sunday, Apr. 14 at 2 p.m.
