FINDLAY, Ohio – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's soccer team conceded two goals late in the first half in a 2-1 loss to the University of Findlay in a non-conference match on Wednesday.
Fifth-year standout
Tamas Nagy converted a penalty kick in the 16
th minute to give the Redhawks (1-2) the early lead. The goal was Nagy's fourth of the season and the 35
th of his career. It also brought his career point total to 96 (35 goals, 26 assists).
Findlay tied the game on a PK in the 44
th minute and scored the eventual winner by converting off of a scramble after a free kick with 5 seconds remaining in the half.
"The guys played hard and they worked hard, but the ball didn't bounce our way," Redhawks coach
Scott Reber said. "Unfortunately, sometimes you need that to happen to get a result."
Senior
Caleb DaSilva made six saves for Roberts, which has opened the season with three games in seven days.
"We just have to be patient, trust the process and know that better days lie ahead," Reber said.
The Redhawks return to action on Sept. 18 for a non-conference game at Seton Hill.
