BUFFALO, NY – Graduate student Georgia Haverlock scored 19 points and three others added at least nine points each as the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Basketball team won for the first time this season with a 60-51 win on the road at D'Youvlle University in an East Coast Conference (ECC) game.
Roberts (1-14 overall, 1-6 ECC) led early and did not allow D'Youville4-13, 2-6 ECC) to take a lead for the entire game. The Saints managed to tie the game in the second half but the strong Roberts defense allowed the Redhawks to regain the late lead.
Haverlock led all scorers with 19 points and added three assists and three steals. Senior Grace Dow added 12 points and a team-leading nine rebounds. Senior Lauren McRae and freshman Meghan Doherty had nine points each. McRae was 3-for-4 from 3-pint range.
Roberts shot well from the field hitting 22-for-50 (.440) from the field and connected on 10-of-13 (.769) from the free throw line.
The Redhawks return to action Saturday at home against Daemen University in the annual Golisano Children's Hospital fundraising event at the Voller Athletic Center.
