Redhawks Drop Tight Decision To 13th-Ranked Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's soccer team generated its best scoring opportunity of the game in the final minute of play, but Sebastian Guerrero's point-blank shot was turned away as the Redhawks dropped a narrow 1-0 non-conference decision to nationally ranked Bloomsburg on Wednesday afternoon.

Cooper Kerridge found Guerrero in front, but Bloomsburg goalkeeper Sean Blatz made the save with less than 30 seconds remaining on the clock. The loss was the first of the season for the Redhawks (7-1-5).

Bloomsburg, which is ranked 13th in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, scored the only goal of the match in the 48th minute.

Senior Eric Jewson made five saves for Roberts.

The Redhawks will host Mercy in an East Coast Conference game at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
