HOPKINGTON, N.H. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men's cross country team qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships for the fourth straight season after placing second at the East Regionals on Saturday.
Sophomores
Trevor Heitkamp and
Jakob Zibbel led the way for the Redhawks, who were runner-up to Southern Connecticut State with 106 points. Heitkamp completed the 10K course as Hopkington Fairgrounds in 32:19.25 to finish eighth and Zibbel was 11
th in 32:35.92.
Junior
Vincent Ciraolo placed 23
rd in 33:17.26 and freshman
Joel Amstutz was 28
th in 33:32.65. Sophomore
Aiden McDonald finished 39
th in 33:55.98 and freshman
Braden Fears was 61
st in 35:01.28.
Heitkamp, Zibbel and Ciraolo earned All-Region recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Nationals are scheduled for Nov. 22 in Kenosha, Wis.
