LATROBE, PA – Junior Abigail Barnard rolled a team-leading average of 178.8 to lead the Roberts Wesleyan University Bowling team to a fourth-place finish Saturday at the Pat Lacey Memorial Tournament hosted by Saint Vincent College.
The host Bearcats won the team title with a pin count of 4,369 and an average of 174.8. Lewis University was second with a 4,253 total and 170.1 average. Muskingum University was third (4,242/169.7) and Roberts was fourth with a pin count of 4,065 and average of 162.6. Robert Morris University was fifth followed by Alvernia University, Hilbert College, D'Youville University, Penn State-Behrend, Ursuline College and Pitt-Bradford.
Roberts recorded victories over Penn State Behrend and Ursuline.
Barnard finished sixth overall in the individual standings to lead the Redhawks and junior Rebecca Spry was second for Roberts in 13th position with an average score of 169.9. Senior Amelia Ponto was 16th at 167.4 and sophomore Kaylee Stephens was 39th with her average of 152.75 in four matches. Freshman Michelle Cummings was next with an average score of 170.67 in three matches.
Roberts returns to action November 22 at the Hilbert Hammer Classic at Classic Lanes in Kenmore.
